Global Price Comparison Printer Friendly Version
I always wonder how much things cost in different countries. My friend went abroad to by a diamond for her engagement ring and it was much cheaper for the same quality. She effectively got a free holiday and still saved some money.
My idea is to create a website which compares prices globally (or close to you) for high value products. This could include jewelry, electronics, clothing, etc. The consumer will effectively get a free/cheap holiday and may even have money left over.
Reward: Equity in the business

Cross-Generational Care Printer Friendly Version
I currently live next to a care home for the elderly and the residents don't sound very happy there. One notable exception is when they are around young children. My idea is simple: combine elderly care centers with children's day care centers. Young children haven't yet learned from society that people have to behave in certain ways so 'wacky old people' behaviors don't bother them as much, and maybe they'll grow up to be better people for the immersion.
This is simply a replacement of traditional multi-generational family arrangements, where retired, older generations maintained their value to the family as caregivers while able-bodied folks toiled in the field. Nowadays, we've deemed that being old implies that you have to retire and interact only with your age group while living in care centers. Generally, it seems to me that people don't spend enough time outside their age group anymore; and small children don't have much choice about who they spend time with.
Some of the benefits include: Cross-generational information exchange, fewer staff per person, and greater human contact across generations.
Reward: I hope that when I am too old to care for myself, that I am not isolated from future generations and forced to end my influence in society.

21st Century Office Park Printer Friendly Version
Summary: An eco-minded office park where grass and picnic tables aren't there just for looks.
Details:
Outdoor Work Areas:
Potential features could include shaded seating areas with power ports to enable working outside. The shade could be provided by solar panels. Wifi access points could cover the area for VPN access.
Shared Meal Areas:
Indoor and outdoor shared meal areas would provide gathering places for all employees to meet and network, regardless of company.
Community Culture:
Bulletin boards, a shared park-wide website/intranet, and park-hosted classes/events all contribute to knowledge and resource sharing across companies.
Cost:
Additional cost for running the park and all listed benefits would be passed along to the companies in the park. Metrics should be planned and implemented correctly to analyze utilization and conduct regular SWOT analyses.
Benefits:
Numerous. Environmental focus in construction and maintenance of grounds coupled with proper marketing and niche category could yield a high return on investment if handled correctly.
Reward: Focus on growing environment and community aspects balanced with economic sustainability - then spread the business model so I might work there some day!

An expanded version of barcodes like UPC, SKU, etc. for perishable items, encoding the expiration date of a particular item as well as the kind of item. That way, cash registers can be programmed not to sell expired items (and even to warn the customer if the item is going to expire soon).
Reward: Thanks and public recognition, please.

Fingerprint ATM Printer Friendly Version
Instead of Making, issuing and using ATM Cards, finger prints should be used to draw money, as the Finger prints are unique to every human being. This can be referred to the country's Person database (SSN) if any. Banks will register the finger print in the bank system when opening an account. So how easy and secure a person went to an ATM, place his/her thumb on the reader and entered the security code and did his transaction.
