Vaccum Transport Printer Friendly Version
My idea would be to create underground or over ground tubes that would be used as a transport. The idea would be to take individual capsules, where the occupant lies down. Then place them into the vaccum tube and shoot them to their destination.
Since only having one person per tube is uneconomical (it would take a large amount of energy to vaccum out a tube for one person) I would say that the tube would have intervals for travel, about every 10 minutes or so. The people who pay the fee get placed in a capsule, put into the tube, then another person is placed into a capsule, etc. etc. for about 10 max capsules per tube. The end of the tube is shut, and vaccumed out, sucking the occupants to their destination rather quickly.
This would be useful for mining openerations, undersea labs and living, quick travel (with miles of tube, or maybe cross city to cross states tubes) and other things. Or, for quick underground travel, which is economical, take massive tubes, then take a huge capsule, which is like a monorail or subway train (where occupants can stand or sit) which seats about 20-70 or more, then vaccum it out. This idea wold also stop pollution. Just think of all the regular commuters who cold use this instead of dirty cars.
Reward: Credit for the idea; A full working system for my home and anyplace i would ike to set up a return (like a workplace or school)

Cool Car MP3 Player Printer Friendly Version
I remember the good old times ;) --- as if it was so long ago lol --- when car CD Player was way too expensive for me (high school student back then) to purchase. It was the biggest pain, considering the fact that most of my new music was on CD’s. That’s why, when I wanted to listen to some music from a CD while I was driving, I had only two options either copy the CD on a tape or use one of those cheap portable CD Players with a cassette player adapter.
This situation is similar to what many young adults face today; the difference is that they would like their car stereos to play MP3’s. Sure there are a lot of ways that one can have MP3’s playing on their car stereos: through recordable CD’s, mini disc players, and more, but all of those either cost a lot or take up a lot of space. My idea is an affordable alternative. A small hard drive inside one of the cassette player adapters with a small and nice wireless controller. This device would play MP3’s through a car cassette player and it would be invisible during this procedure since it would be a shape of a simple cassette. One would be able to recharge it at home while using a computer to manage different MP3’s that would be stored on the device. There would also be an option to purchase a small adapter to it, that would transform it into a portable MP3 player.
I believe that this would be a big hit. Even I would consider spending $100 for it, considering that usually I belive that those devices are unnecessary.
If this idea had been done before then that's too bad.
Reward: How about giving me some credit for this idea (if it was not invented yet) and couple of those devices (5 is a good number) since this would make for good gifts.

Pocket Reading Device Printer Friendly Version
My son is in fifth grade. He is dyslexic. It takes him at least 3 times longer to read materials than other children his age. He usually does not comprehend what he reads. However, he is very smart. If someone reads to him, he understands very well and is able to answer any question asked him about the material. I have to read everything to him in the afternoons and evenings to prepare him to go to school the next day and be able to pass. He is very self conscious and hates to be made fun of for his lack of reading skills. When the teacher has to read to him in front of the class, he gets very embarrassed. Many times he gets bad grades because he does not want to ask questions or get help from the teacher because of his embarrassment.
The invention I would like to see become a reality is as follows: A hand-held, portable, small machine that a person can scan reading material with, one line at a time. The machine will have a computer chip that will read the information and repeat the information in audible sound to the reader. This sound should be able to come to the reader through an earplug. This device needs to be small and inconspicuous. I am thinking it would look like a pocket tape recorder with earplugs and another cord with a small reading attachment that would be used to scan with. Or possibly, instead of a second cord, the scanner would be built into the pocket sized device and the entire device would be passed over the reading material to scan it. My son could use this device from now on. He could read the newspaper, directions on packages, books, etc. It would open up a whole new world for him and help him to be the successful adult that I know he can become. Will someone creative please help me make this a reality!!
