Dried out Dry Erase Marker tip blues Printer Friendly Version
Here is an idea for the makers of dry erase markers one that would really be of good use to parents care takers and educators of young children. A flip top cap attached to the marker that even a child can easily take off. The cap may necessitate a re-design of the marker tip whereby the cap could also be designed to flip back and perhaps be an ergonomic aid to how the person holds the marker.
Another solution to the "I forgot to cap it!!!" dried out dry erase marker tip blues is to design a retractable marker tip, since kids seem instinctivley love clicking retractable pens. Perhaps you can design a sort of reverse pressure sensitive device that retracts the marker tip when the marker tip is not in use, thus no pressure on the tip would make the tip automatically retract back into its protective barrel.
Reward: A work from home idea marketing job would be nice but if not Ok yes I would like a package or more of different colored markers utilizing one or more of these design ideas.

Child Safe Packaged Gift Opener Printer Friendly Version
Much like a rolling blade with a handle for cutting fabric combined with the blades of children's cutting scissors, it would cleanly and easily open any type of gift wrap or box or tape or ribbon which could be recycled for later use by cutting rather than ripping. This would reduce the amount of mess on any given Holiday by not having a lot of scraps to pick up afterwards amongst other problems. Also, it is almost always practically impossible to get at your gift through all the packaging, so we just roll the blade over the packaging (of whatever kind) and it cuts open without effort and not damaging the gift. They could be given out taped to the gift. The general design is just a child safe rolling blade and a handle (of any color) taylored for cutting certain materials since fabric cutters won't do it. The handles could come as a child would want it such as animals (also prehistoric) or cartoons or whatever the kids like these days.
Reward: A packaged gift (of your choice) and an opener.

Shrinky Dink Rubber Drawing Pad Printer Friendly Version
If you start with a certain sized plastic board and put clips or clamps at the corners, then you can stretch out any shaped piece of rubber and draw on it. The further the rubber is stretched the better the effect on the rubber. First you stretch the rubber then you draw on it then you release the rubber from its clips. The shrinking of the rubber creates a very unique effect that is better and much like the old shrinky dink oven baked shinking plastic. The things you draw on the rubber shrink and look like some fantasy version of the drawn picture or word or what ever it is you drew on it. It is hard to explain, but easy to do. Buy a balloon and lightly draw on it then deflate it and you will see that the image changes and it also compacts making everything look like a logo type drawing. A must have for all those kids who need a creative outlet and a new idea that will thrill them every time they make a new drawing on there pads!
It could also be washable and water soluable so that you could reuse all the same parts including the rubber sheets that get stretched.
Reward: Four of these for my sister's children.
