Angelic Layer Printer Friendly Version
There is a japanese tv show called angelic layer (it's a cartoon). Well I thought I can make a little simulation of that you see.
To get an "angel" (Angel - is another term for a doll which is made by a person to be fought in Angelic Layer battles. Angels are each made differently, and can have different attributes. Some angels are made to be great in stamina but slow, others are made to be Speed, but are not as strong. The deus must decide how s/he wants his angel to be.) from an angels egg (Angel Egg - The first stage in the Angel Making Process, where the angel to be is in a small egg, surrounded by the absorption fluid, a type of water. When opened, the fluid leaks out, leaving only the doll, which will be created, molded, and made into an angel of the creator's choice.)
To make this a hit seller I thought it would be great to put a doll that has no face or real body tone in the egg and let the Deus (Deus - is another name for the maker of an Angel Doll. Deus's are the ones who control the dolls during and Angelic Layer battle. Deus's are also usually the ones who create and design the Angel doll, though there are some exceptions to this case.) make his or her dream doll by using clay leaving it all night and then using "special paint" for the face they need to also buy a wig and make clothers for there angel. There will be a card where u need to mail to the company to get ur ID card so u can play in the tournament and play in ur PS2 or PC game (Big profit)!
But here's where it gets interesting we make a game out of it for a Pc and PS2. But u need to buy a doll because when u buy the game u will need to describe your doll and type ur ID Code so ur doll can get power points....
Then there are tounaments called Angelic layer (Angelic Layer - A game where two people battle their Angels on a table. Each person or deus will wear a Visor that lets them control the doll through telepathy. Angelic Layer battles are popular in Tokyo, and it is quite a game. ) If you win you get special points to get discounts on angel stuff or prizes.
If you want to see pictures or u want to get more detailed about angelic layer goto to these websites: http://www.misakichii.com or http://eternalsenshi.com/yohko

Open Source Auto Industry Printer Friendly Version
The auto industry today has some major flaws. You buy a new car for a large sum of money, after 10 or 12 years, the repair costs are more than the value of the car, so you toss it into a junkyard and buy a brand new car. The car companies are rewarded for making a car that is difficult to repair. In some cases, it seems like they are intentionally designed so that customers cannot work on them themselves. The cars must be taken to the dealer and the repair costs are outrageous.
Here's the solution: in the aeronautics industry, aircraft are designed for ease of maintenance. Many aircraft are designed to last 100 years and to have parts that are easily replaceable. The concept of designing products for a maximum life and ease of maintenance and repair is known as sustainment.
In the arms industry, many firearms are designed to maximize the compatibility of their parts. Parts for a Colt 1911 made in 2015 will be compatible with parts made in the 1930s. An AR-15 upper receiver made by Smith & Wesson is compatible with a lower receiver made by Bushmaster. Compatibility.
Last, in the world of open source software, the intellectual property is built by volunteers all around the world who wish to create a better product for themselves and everyone else. Also, projects like the Adruino have created open source hardware and have dramatically driven down the costs of custom circuit boards by opening their designs to the free market. This is the beauty of open source information.
What I want to do is to create a car company that uses the best of all of these worlds. Cars that are designed to last a lifetime because they are designed for ease of maintenance. Parts that will fit your car today, and in 50 years you will still be able to buy parts that fit. Last, all intellectual property will be open source. This means people from all over the world will be able to propose design improvements and create new 3D models using open source software. Also, this will open the door to the free market so manufacturers from all over the world will be able to manufacture parts that fit together. You can buy an engine from Honda and a transmission from Toyota and they will be compatible in the same car. Designing cars for sustainment and compatibility with open source information will revolutionize the auto industry. It will make cheap and reliable transportation available to everyone on the planet.
Reward: To change the world

Spring-loaded Sling Bed Printer Friendly Version
The Spring-loaded Sling Bed would be an alternative to a foam or spring mattress. Different versions of the bed would be made to either rest on top of a platform bed (preferably one with an open bottom) or to replace the side rails of a bed. It is inspired by hammocks and the use of side rods as in the kanoe baby hammock (kanoe.us) and the "air chair".
I am not an engineer. There are some specifics of the design that I have left to someone with engineering skills. That said, I think this can be done. I also think that versions of such a bed could be made to accommodate very heavy or tall people or convert to a chair, loveseat or couch, but first things first. I would really like to see this made to replace the box spring and mattress of my and my husband's full size bed.
The bed would have a strong piece of fabric that would have two pockets on the left and right sides for metal rods to slide into. Some cushioning could be added to the rods or the pocket if it were done in such a way as to not prevent the rod from sliding in, was easily replaceable and didn't slow the drying of the fabric. A stopper of some sort would keep the fabric from sliding away from the ends of the rod. Some fabric would extend beyond the rod pockets and below the foot of the bed to serve as a bed skirt. There would also be some points at the head and foot of the fabric where it could attach to the frame to prevent sagging. Once the rods are inserted into the fabric, the ends of the rods would run along tracks or attach to members that run along tracks at the head and foot of the bed's frame. The rods would be pushed apart along this track by one spring for a twin bed, two for a full or larger (one for each person sleeping in it). The pressure of each spring could be adjusted by a dial. In full size and larger beds, there would be a fixed (not sliding), yet adjustable divider in the middle of each track. This would be the point from which each spring would press. The fabric could also be stretched between these points to prevent sagging there.
To make it more like lying diagonally in a real hammock, you could use Mayan or Nicaraguan hammocks tied diagonally to fit this bed or cut the fabric on the bias for a sort of Brazilian hammock. Also, introducing a means of making the fabric wider or narrower at certain points between the rods could allow one to customize support to different areas of their body.
Reward: A free or substantially discounted one.
