Automated self service eye exam Printer Friendly Version
They have machines that do your blood pressure for free, so why not a machine that is for people who have trouble seeing and buy over the counter glasses? Yes, you can go to the eyeglass place and get a free eye exam, but then you have to pay outrages prices for frames. Why can't they have a machine that people can go up to and do a short eye test to see what strength of over the counter glasses they need?
The reason I thought of this is because my husband wears prescription glasses and we can't afford to get another pair right now and medicaid only pays for 1 pair every 5 years for adults. We are not sure what strength of glasses he needs and it would be neat if we could go into a lets say Walmart and he could do a short eye test and get a 5 dollar pair of glasses. This could benefit kids and adults who are rough on glasses and do not want an expensive pair of glasses.

Needle anesthetic Printer Friendly Version
A pre-shot (or blood withdrawal) needle anesthetic like the dentist uses, except for ordinary needle "stings" in a doctor's office to keep kids from crying and adults from tensing up. I've never met anyone who likes needles. My dentist says it's more complicated than it sounds because of different types of tissue.

Programmed Muscle Movement Printer Friendly Version
Map the human body by collecting electronic impluses of muscle contractions during daily movements. (the suit design similar to the animations industry use on live models to record movement for animated characters created in the computer/movie industry) Assign each lead with # or note, record the impulse firing sequences. A parapalegic should be able to wear a wired body suit powered by a small device that delivers the electronic stimulus to muscles that are programmed into an mp3 or ipod. There would be stored sequences for each activity; such as walk straight ahead, veer right, sit down etc. Most of our movements have counter muscle movements needed for balance, this would fire multiple muscle groups in the natural order. Change your direction, change the song!
