| Ecological TV
There are many reasons that people pollute so badly but one is sure just lack of perception. Your garbage seems simply to disappear. So, here's the deal. Inside every TV is a mandatory chip that displays an image of the garbage that you produce. At first, it obscures a small part of your TV screen, but over time, more and more is obscured. If you produce less garbage, the TV becomes obscured less quickly. To reduce the garbage, you may perform certain acts such as planting a tree. You plant a tree, and a signal is sent that reduces your garbage image proportion.Reward: Gee, I dunno. A habitable planet for my grandchildren might just about do it for me.

| Engine Replacement as a Way to Control Air Pollution
My idea for state and federal air quality bureaus to get better control of the air quality in their locales would be an engine and transmission replacement program for older vehicles. Many of these vehicles are owned by low and middle income drivers, who cannot afford newer and less polluting autos; replacing the engines of these autos would be an economical way to keep air quality from deteriorating. One suggestion is to provide a certain percentage to car owners, such as 75% of the costs to replace these parts with rebuilt ones, if their vehicles have not passed state air tests.Reward: Not having to go into the whole for a new car, and cleaner air.

| Holiday Sponsors
How about opening the big holidays for sponsorship? (After all, every event has a sponsor these days!) "Independence Day" would then be called "Microsoft Day", "Thanksgiving" could be named "Wal-Mart Holidays", and so on. The holidays would be auctioned once a year and given to the company paying most. The money from the auction could then be used for something special like buying school books, feeding the poor or building social housing.Reward: Keep this a welfare idea, and don't use the money for crap like highways or armed satellites.
