"Leave-up" Holiday Christmas lights Printer Friendly Version
Here's what I would love if someone would create... Christmas lights that can be left up all year without making you look like the problem neighbor.
I'm thinking of a thin housing or tube that blends seamlessly with the gutters on your house. The housing would appear white when the lights were off, but would be transparent enough to see the lights through when they were turned on. Of course, the lights would have to be reliable so you don't lose strings here and there and have to climb up every year anyway.
They would clip to gutters and be inflexible enough that they would look like part of the gutter (not flexible like rope light, which would sag over time).
Other styles that blend with roof shingles would also be cool so you could have lights on the top of the roof too. But starting with white to blend with gutters would seem the easiest place to start.
Reward: I would love to have these installed on my house!!

Smelly Bad Tasting Wires To Repel Pet Bites Printer Friendly Version
Animal repellents in smell and taste form to spray on or around the house have been around for years, but they wear off qickly and are very expensive for small amounts of it. If you incorporate the pet and animal repellent smells and flavors into the plastics of the wiring or any other household item (in manufacturing) then the smell is permanent and the animal will never chew through expensive wires, cords, or items of large replacement cost. The premanufactured products would work with any product that can retain an odor (mostly plastics or wood) and flavor that the animals hate, but we do not notice then we need not worry any more and on the reverse side; we teach the animal the appropriate smell in toy form such as bacon, or any other flavor an animal goes for. I have used dog repellent on neighbor dogs and it works but it never smelled bad too me.
Reward: New wires for the whole house. Inside and out.

Mildew, Rot, Grime, Mold Killing Caulking Printer Friendly Version
We have so-called mildew proof caulking, but it is always filled with mildew and rot. If we add the agents or compounds to the caulking that kills mold, mildew, and rot, then we have a caulking that would last forever and never look bad and never need to be replaced every year in an average bath or shower. We just add the cleaning agents directly into the caulking, and fuse it together until it cleans itself, indefinitely. Who doesn't have caulking somewhere in their house, where it is important to either be clean or look clean. It can cause health prolems. Especially if you are sensitive to aquiring a problem or allergy to it. We need only to add the right mixture to it, then the mold, rot, and mildew, just wont show up at all. You could even add teflon coatings to it, so that it didn't collect any grime either. A perfect solution to the so-called mildew proof caulking, because it is not mildew proof. A new chemical which is used every day and is safe to be around and would cause no health problems when around it. Like the common house hold cleaners you would use to clean the problem areas in the first place.
