To incorporate a roof storage in car design. This storage can be made available by a push of a button. It will utilize some series of motors (similar to sunroof motor) that will move the roof and provide some space between the outer roof and inner roof part for the storage compartment. The final shape will still maintain the vehicle aerodynamic shape. When not in use, the roof shall be lowered to the original shape in order to prevent unnecessary extra fuel consumption due to wind resistance created by the vehicle. This type of storage compartment is suitable for 7-seater MPV/SUV with a very limited cargo capacity.Reward: Some token of appreciation commensurate to the application of the idea
Take advantage of excess electrical production capacity during night-time hours by equipping homes and businesses with large battery systems. This approach has been suggested for electrical cars where the disadvantage is the size of the battery system, but this would be much less of an issue for homes and businesses. Power companies would need to provide a cost incentive to encourage the use of these and the energy storage mode would be best controlled remotely by centralized operation at the power company to optimize efficiency. Current battery technology could be implemented easily. Having these energy storage devices would likely encourage individual consumers to add solar-voltaic or wind energy collection technology to work with the storage system.Reward: No reward required
I am tired of buying DVDs and piling them. With mega storage drives available, maybe someone should compress about 200 movies and market them. Select and create your own DVD library, something like MP3 songs on a single player. With a user interface to choose movies and plug into any TV, you have your own library and storage is easy.Reward: I guess someone is already doin it, if so, please point me in the right direction.
The idea is to create a optical storage device like CD using colors. The CD's used now are using laser to read the bits. If light is reflected back it is sensed as one otherwise zero. My idea is, instead of reflecting a plain light we can reflect a colored light and sense it. If we can represent 8 (2^3) colors at that point and sense it then we can store thrice the amount of a normal CD. And this storage capacity is directly proportional to the amount of color we reresent at a single point. I dont know how to store a color at a single point and sense it back. If anybody can do it, then u can make use of it.Reward: If anyone is using this idea please let me know.I dont want anything more.
How about a Digital Film Roll cartridge for a standard manual SLR Camera that can replace your conventional 35mm film roll... The digital cartridge could have parts which would fool the manual SLR to believe that the roll is real... i.e., wind the roll in place after every exposure, unwind etc. The cartridge would consist of a battery unit, storage space, exposure transfer screen/pad, roll advance sensor. The battery and storage is shaped like a standard film roll atttached to a screen, which registers the exposure through manual/normal operation of the camera, and the forward movement sensor fools the camera that the picture has been taken. The battery and storage unit would have necessary sockets for transferring photographs to the computer. Such an equipment could save development and processing cost of photographs.Reward: free of cost!
