Fantasy Movie Studio (like Fantasy Baseball) Printer Friendly Version
Create a "fantasy movie studio" entertainment/subscription site, similar to "fantasy baseball" (a sophisticated prediction game based on the real stats of a live MLB season). Partner with the Internet Movie Database for existing information --rather than collecting your own.
Rather than RBIs and other stats that baseball uses, use stats that apply to the entertainment industry like amount of money each actor brings in per picture, a "diva"/"temperment" scale (for qualitative information that effects quantitative results), etc. to determine how much money a film will bring in for "the team" --i.e., movie studio. Films can be picked from "in production" category in the IMDB. Users could also customize such features as creating their own film studio, negotiating contracts for actors, etc.
With this online entertainment/subscription service you could also build everything on your "team" from the actors to the director to the set designer.
Reward: Free subscription to the service and credit.

Airball Printer Friendly Version
When you play golf, it can become tiresome to bend over 18 times a game to retrieve your golf ball from the cup. Here is my idea: The cup could have a small air cartridge inside that is activated by a small hand held device the players have and could only be triggered from a five foot radius. The air cartridge would only have sufficient air to launch the golf ball three feet into the air and then the golfer then can retrieve his/her golf ball from midair instead of bending over 18 times a game.
Reward: free game with tiger woods.

New mode for international football tournaments Printer Friendly Version
Fun facts:

The last two Soccer World Championships were 0-0 after 90 minutes.

The last two copa americas were 0-0 after 90 minutes.

The last European Championship was 0-0 after 90 minutes.
Since I am really sick of big football (i. e. soccer) tournament finals always being nill-nill after 90 minutes, I propose the following:
- Always have a game for third place. (In the World Championship, there is, but in the European Championship, there actually isn't.)

- If in the finals, there is no goal after 90 minutes, both finalists are disqualified, and the winner of the game for third place will be declared champion.
Consequences: Instead of having just one typically boring final, you get two exciting matches. #1 the game for third place will be meaningful, as the winner could still become champion. #2 the finals will be more interesting, as both teams will scramble and push hard to somehow score a goal, the longer the game progresses.
Note that the finalists will only be disqualified if there are no goals. A 1-1 after 90 minutes is fine, then the game will continue into overtime, as usual.
