| Fire Ant Microwave Generator 
Fire ants are a painful nuisance that has already hit the southern states east and west. As the nests are easy to spot, one environmentally sound way of eradicating them might be with a portable microwave generator powerful enough to penetrate several feet into the ground. I imagine a truck mounted model that swings out over the nest and focuses tightly. The same small flatbed would carry a gasoline generator to power the microwave unit. A rig like this could drive from farm to farm, field to field, exterminating the pests for a fee.Reward: Hey, how about a DVD copy of the movie, "Antz"?

| Closed captioning for movies
My wife and I have impaired hearing. We watch TV with closed captioning. We do not go to the movie theater, because we miss some of the dialog, especially whispers, fast repartee, and accents. I propose some sort of closed captioning for movie theaters for those people that need it. Remember the cardboard glasses for 3-D movies? Maybe the captioning can be shown such that hearing patrons don't see it, but hearing impaired can read it with special equipment.Reward: Fresh popcorn again in the company of fellow movie fans.

| Eliminate Talking from the Radio
I can remember that someone invented a video recorder years ago that was supposed to omit the commercial breaks when recording a movie. I guess the system wasn't fail-safe, so it never made it to my home.Anyway, it should be much easier to cut off all the talking from a radio station. I've given up listening to our local radio stations a long time ago because of all the commercials and brainless blabla, but if all the talking could be replaced by silence (or maybe by music from another radio station) I'd be the first to turn the radio on again.Reward: A home stereo equipped with this technology.
