Jet Engine Energy Recycle Printer Friendly Version
The basic idea is to harness the energy created from the thrust of a commercial jet engine. You would place another turbine behind the main turbine that is propelling the jet forward, except this turbine will not be pushing it forward, instead it will be harnessing the energy created from the thrust of the main engine. As the main turbine is powered by the engine and is running, it creates a powerful stream of air that will turn the second turbine and still let the air flow through. It may lose a minuscule amount of thrust, so it will not make much of a difference in regards to power. Thus, as the second turbine turns, it will create energy that could be fed back into the plane to power anything, like possibly the electronics in the plane(A/C, lights, t.v., etc.).

The High Winger Printer Friendly Version
The design idea is for a medium to long range two-engine aircraft in either a larger wide body configuration or narrow body. The engines would be rear-mounted and be either similar to short distance airbus engines or those on longer distance Boeing 787 or 777 aircraft. The high wing design is based on the BAe 146/ Avro RJ and some turbo prop aircraft. The main differences are that this design could be larger or smaller and the engines are rear mounted similar to the MD 88 and others. The safety and passenger aspects of this design are listed below
Safety
As the this is a high wing design fuel tanks would be above he ground and would not be compromised in a wheels up emergency landing. The engines are also above ground level and would not be compromised in an emergency wheels-up landing. The mid wheel nacelles would be wide enough to prevent the plane from tipping over in a wheels-up emergency landing and could be equipped with inflatable air bags to act as buoyancy devices in case of a water landing. Also due to the high wing and high engine design these would not snag on waves or dig into the water if an emergency landing on water is required.
Passenger Comfort
Unlike the Avro (which is a high wing design with engines attached underneath the wings) and other traditional low wing designs, all window-seat passengers would have excellent views, and with a rear engine design noise levels would be acceptable.

Perfectly Weighted and Balanced Coins Printer Friendly Version
Have you ever noticed that on the two sides of every coin there is a different design? Well, the two designs are there for appearance sake and not for flipping the coin in the air for a game of heads or tails. You can still make a unique face (for heads) and another design on the other side and still be able to balance the weight perfectly for a 100% chance of having a 50/50 chance at heads or tails the same way a throwing knife is balanced.
You would then have a true flip with that being the main problem with fairness, but the other factors are left to chance. You could make them any size with any color or design as long as they are balanced and start a trend of collecting different flipping coins. Maybe even break into the gold, silver or platinum industry and make them collectable for investments as well. You could have them specially made for the designs on either side of your choice. You could add your favorite kid or adult game designs. Anything can be balanced and placed on them.
Reward: A person's face on one side fitting the use for the event of the coin's usage. Or anything imagined!
