Hi Speed Rail System Printer Friendly Version
The U.S. presently has thousands of miles of Interstate Highway right-of-ways. Why not build a hi-speed elevated rail system that crosses the U.S. There is usually plenty of room in the medians. If the system is elevated there would be no need for crossing etc. The system could be built with ready-made concrete and steel components that would be easy to construct. These trains could have speeds in excess of 120 MPH. It could also have cars that would transport the family auto. In addition, it could be a public works project that would employ thousands of people similiar to the TVA and the building of the Hoover Dam.
Reward: I would like to travel across the country on such a train.

Food Flavored Chewing Gum/Substance Printer Friendly Version
A large percentage of people who gain excesive weight due to overeating, eat when there not even hungry, but just because of the flavor and taste of the food, or the "sensation" of having it in their mouth.
It would be great to have some kind of gum or chewing substance that was flavored like our favorite foods. Not only could this reduce the amount actual excessive weight gain from unnecesary eating, but it could probably help in the weight loose process, by basicly eating less, but getting the same fulfilments.
Of course the product would have to be made so it would not loose flavor for a while, because unlike chewing gum, it would be pretty nasty to be tasting a food one second, and then chewing on a tasteless nothing the next. And im not saying it will completly satisfy a person the same as food would, because it probably wouldn't. But it could help. I thin kit would have more of a chance in the States, where our overweight percentage is discustingly high.

Spherical Laundry Basket Cage Printer Friendly Version
My idea is a laundry basket cage which is spherical in design. The advantage of this design is that it can be rolled down stairs or along the floor using the hands or feet to propel forward toward its destination. There are no wheels or handles to this unit.
Made from the same flexible basket-weave plastic that is used on the sides of tradional laundry baskets, the laundry basket cage has a serviceably large, round hinged opening for loading and unloading the laundry. Closing the hatch completes the sperical design. It's now ready to be kicked and/or rolled down the stairs, along the hallway toward the laundry room.
When being used as a hamper or when unloading into the washer, there is a separate round plastic "stabilizing ring" where the cage rests. This plastic ring will sit on the floor under the cage, steadying the sphere. The ring is made of the same light-weight plastic as the laundry cage.
This begs the question, what about when you want to return folded clothes to other parts of the house? In the bottom of the cage is a shallow flattened surface for folded laundry. The lid (hatch) has an inset cut-out handle for carrying the sphere.
Carrying laundry baskets at arm's length is one of the hardest household chores. With gravity and its "basket ball" design, the laundry basket cage makes half the job easier.
Kids would be more inclined to get their laundry to the wash room. College kids would be kickin' their laundry basket cages all over campus town.
Reward: I'd like a lifetime supply of the laundry basket cages. Six should last me for a good long time.
