Smart Cell Phone Printer Friendly Version
Many people go to certain places (ex. church, school, work) that require them to turn off their cell phones. Normally people attend these places on specific times and days. Why doesn't somebody make a program that will automatically turn off their cell phones (or turn vibrate on) during the specific days and times individuals are attending church, school, work, etc., so the individual doesn't have to. They would input the day and time they normally turn off their phone, and can forget about having embarrassing moments when their ring tone goes off in school or church.
Reward: The product and upgrades (and please notify me if you do this).

Copier Forgotten Document Warning Printer Friendly Version
Around the world, this is probably happening every other minute: Someone takes a xerox of an important document - passport, school test, classified airplane construction plan - and ultimately forgets it in the copying machine.
I guess it would be really easy to create a sensor that can tell whether or not a document is still lying on the copying glass. So the ingenious part is to come up with a clever algo to determine if the document is actually being forgotten, or if the guy at the copying machine is just taking a short break.
Reward: I'd actually like one of those for my home copier - thank you.

Heated Ice Scrapers Printer Friendly Version
One of the most disappointing things about cold winter days is all the ice you have to scrape off your car just to go to school/work/extra-curricular activities. Not only is this a pain for myself to do, but when I get on the road, I see many new, inexperienced drivers who are just too lazy to scrape more than two square centimeters off their windshield, which poses an immense safety risk to anyone driving.
In order to decrease the happening of this, I propose a heated ice scraper. It wouldn't be heated by electrical use, as I'm aware of the dangers that the melted ice would have when combined with electricity. Rather, an exothermic process referred to as "slaking lime" would be used to generate the needed warmth.
In the process of slaking lime, Calcium Carbonate (CaCO3) is superheated, which causes it to release CO2 and Calcium Oxide (CaO). Packets containing Calcium Oxide and its reactant, water, in separate sides of a plastic, non-reactant package. When someone wanted to add a quick boost of heat to their defrosting efforts, they would break the package, as one breaks a glowstick. This would produce Calcium Hydroxide (Ca(OH)2), as well as a useful amount of heat.
