City Windmill Printer Friendly Version
Design a windmill that adjusts to the amount of wind that is blowing. If there is not much wind then not much electricty is going to be produced, but it is still running. Most windmills need 6PMH to start and then max out. As the wind gets stronger the tension should get stronger to produce more power. If the wind is low the tension should release so that a small amount of power is being produced. The actual design of the windmill should not be like a normal one, it should be designed to rotate off of the smallest amount of wind.
Reward: I wouldnt mind my house running off of this.

Hallway motion sensor light Printer Friendly Version
My invention is a small night light that plugs into the wall. When you walk by a dim light comes on. This will also have an on/off switch. This would be useful for when you get up in the middle of the night and our going to get a glass of water or something. Having this be a motion sensored light only your pets, children and other relitives can sleep in darkness. It will be a dim light so it will not hurt your eyes. Everyone knows there is nothing worse than either running into a wall in the middle of the night and waking your family up or turning on a bright light and waking up your family and hurting your eyes.

Ladder collapse protector Printer Friendly Version
Having read about deaths occurring due to people extending ladders past the safe extension point I felt there had to be an answer.
My idea is that the last rungs of the ladder have an extra extrusion on the back of the rung thus stopping the extended front part of the ladder from being located on the last rungs. This would stop people from overstretching the ladder thus avoiding a collapse due to undue stresses.
An after market kit could also be sold as it would be quite a simple job to adapt old ladders.
Reward: Named recognition and saving people from injury would be nice.
