Transport Light by Optic Fiber - Save Energy Printer Friendly Version
My idea is to supply light using optic fiber instead of the electric wires to save the energy. As we all know that when electricity travels through wires, it loses its power (potential difference). Hence we lose lots of energy when electricity travels from the power station to our home.
My idea is very simple... here are the steps:

1) Generate laser rays (or other high intensity rays) at the power station and supply it to home via fiber optic. Light loss will be less than 1% in fiber optic.

2) At home, change the laser ray light to normal light using a device.

3) Use any opaque glass material to scatter the light in all directions.
This is my basic idea. There may be theoretical loop holes, but can be corrected.

Pocket Cordless Phone Printer Friendly Version
I would like a flip-type handset for plain old cordless phones. While we all have cordless phones, they offer no protection to keep the buttons from being accidently pushed. They have them for cell phones, why not for cordless. I carry a phone with me all day but would like to be able to put it in my pocket. We keep 4 phones in our home/business and I'll be the first buyer.

Electronic Braille Book Printer Friendly Version
An electronic device that allows books from the internet to be downloaded onto a portable electronic Braille book. This device could be hand held and consist of a series of small pins that go up and down to form all the letters of the Braille alphabet. Thus blind people could also read whilst they're sitting on the train.
