nice one.
And a weighted snake around the edge (instead of the hot water) to stop the draughts.

wouldn't the quilt keep it warm (at least until I'd got to sleep) ?

I hate draughts round the edge of my quilt but I hate being folded in tightly with blankets. My idea is a long thin hot water bottle that can be velcroed onto the underside of the quilt all the way round the edge. Holds down the edges of the quilt so no draughts and it warms you at the same time. Pr...

speed bumps

well of course speed bumps are supposed to slow you down. the reason this is a very good idea is that even if you do drive very slowly over them they bump you and damage your suspension and tracking. If you have to do it a lot. In fact some of them give less of a bump if you drive over them a bit fa...

which side again?

 by viridian ¦  Mon Sep 12, 2005 1:34 am ¦  Forum: Creativity Pool ¦  Topic: Which side again? ¦  Replies: 4 ¦  Views: 2875

My god I wish I'd thought of that!!!
All those years of trying to guess which side was bigger because I'd forgatten which side was last. And keeping lists!!! :-D
Of course it would sell...to high tech mums. Low tech mums would almost certainly settle for switching wrists :)

jeans that fit

the double buttons(zip?) is a good idea. Have to agree with Michael though...my perfect jeans always seem to end up a bit too tight. I think I must always shop when I'm hungry!

inner pockets

It's certainly a pain that womens jackets etc don't have inside pockets, I've always wanted one or two. I think women in the 18/19th century had slits in their voluminous skirts and petticoats to allow them to reach a thief proof purse hanging from the waist. Must have been one of the few advantages...

comfy grip

 by viridian ¦  Thu Jul 28, 2005 2:37 am ¦  Forum: The Docks ¦  Topic: Comfy grip on a roll ¦  Replies: 2 ¦  Views: 1434

the lapping and the nut are pretty so I want it transparent. the stuff I want has a nice almost rubbery but smooth texture but is so thin and light it won't affect the weight and balance of the bow but a single layer will improve your grip. wonderful for cold days when your hands are dry and smooth ...

cliphooks

 by viridian ¦  Thu Jul 28, 2005 2:29 am ¦  Forum: Creativity Pool ¦  Topic: Clip hook ¦  Replies: 3 ¦  Views: 2402

Aah. That's the trouble with being English! Funny expressions. well like a clothes peg then...you squeeze one end together and the other end opens, let go and a spring in the middle closes the other end. what I want has a hook on the squeezy end and is prettier than a clothes peg. though you can get...

 by viridian ¦  Fri Jul 22, 2005 12:37 am ¦  Forum: Creativity Pool ¦  Topic: Spoiled Milk Detector ¦  Replies: 31 ¦  Views: 36965

For this very reason I always get the small cartons. And they fit in my fridge better. We should all make scones with our spoilt milk...apparently it's really good for them. I don't think I want soda in my milk. It reminds me of my Mum in law, cookng her veg with soda so she could kill them enough t...

how about if the hat had changable inserts...put a frozen one in and when it gets warm swap it for one from the freezer.

I think this has been done if I've read your idea properly. I seem to remember there was one in Abingdon for a few years...looked a bit space age and did almost *everything* for you. then made noises like a tardis when you got out. Next person in found a slightly damp, sweet smelling clean and shiny...

Comfy grip on a roll

 by viridian ¦  Mon Jul 18, 2005 12:35 am ¦  Forum: The Docks ¦  Topic: Comfy grip on a roll ¦  Replies: 2 ¦  Views: 1434

Any other violinists out there? I want some of that soft grippy rubbery stuff (slightly thicker than the stuff you get to stick a plaster on a cut and quite a bit thinner than the stuff you wrap round a sports raquet) on a roll. Different widths so you can wrap some round the lapping of the bow and ...

Sounds like a job for memory foam. Might be a bit pricey though.
But definately a seductive idea.
