If you add a transmitter to all posted speed limit signs or areas for a certain road, Highway, or freeway (speedway), or just add that information to the GPS navigational equipment in your vehicle, you could move onto a road where the signs might be behind you or not visible at the time you pass the...

This form is inclusive for humans, but exclusive to programmers. Request for information are getting more complicated, because programmers are writing programs that circumvent security measures. As of 2004.09.21, the latest trend is to display an image with crazy characters and other object that cur...

Since 99% of the spam messages we receive nowadays come from other countries, there are no possiblities of suing or doing something to take the spammers to the law. Spam is now over the 60% of the email traffic in the world, it makes us waste HOURS of our lifes deleting stupid messages, and slows do...

After submitting a similar idea (see 'Making Money from Noise' in the Docks) this idea was pointed out to me. The only real difference between the two is the level of implementation detail I included. Since this idea made it to the list first I'll just add a few of the possible implementation method...

Here's an addendum on the possible implentation methods. 1. The following link describes the auxilliary power units that are currently being used on 747's (down near the bottom). Equipment capable of producing electricity similar to the way dynamic microphones do could be added to these power units ...

Fairfield; I corrected your sentence as you wished and then deleted the request. "...dull subject..."??? -- YES, you're right, it probably is dull to most people but definitely NOT dull to people like us. But then, if you put me in a really exciting dynamic economics classroom I'd be sound...

I think that many governments are trying hard to pursuade people to make the move from car to motercycle because this means less traffic and less polution. I cant stand cars because I get sick in them, Im more the biker boy, but anyways back to the point. A common feature in city life nowadays is Mu...

The idea that my little computer could be wirelessly connected to a supercomputer has a lot of appeal!. I will ponder what significance your idea might have for Computer Earth. With perhaps thousands of people communicating with any one supercomputer at the same time, a big technical challenge would...

If I remember correctly there was a trial some years ago in the USA where a large number of taxis were fitted with a brake light that blinked at a speed that indicated the proportional amount of braking, and it significantly reduced the amount of rear-front end collisions (one person’s rear end coll...

If you young "whipper-snappers" could remember the olden days. ;-D My daddy had a light in the back window of his 1949 Oldsmobile. It was built like a traffic light and was hooked up so the green light was on when the accelerator was pushed, The Yellow light was on when coasting, and of co...

Store owners would be in favour of this big time. There would be tones of people waiting in line at any given ATM on voting day, thus increasing foot traffic in the store, which in turn would increase sales. And why cant you use your actual bank card to vote? Whats the use in issuing a whole new card?

Some time ago I heard an interview with a traffic "expert" and he said they do it because the cars that come in from the side roads are then standing in front of the red light and they need time to get away before the big traffic wave comes from behind. 8-o Personally I think that doesn't ...

I've noticed that the computer timed traffic lights require you to do about 8 mph over the speed limit to make it though all the stop lights without stopping. I've also noticed that these routes have all the speed traps. Gee, I wonder why they do that.

At the traffic lights in new zealand there are pressure sensors. If there are no cars waiting, then main road is continually on green. This can be quite annoying when your on a bike becasue the lights will stay red intil a car comes and activates the sensor. (mountain bikes are too light) The system...
