Most people know how to play one common instrument - the human voice. Imagine software that could convert a person's whistling or humming into MIDI format (or something similar) - recording the pitch, duration, volume, and decay. Once in a format like MIDI, it can be interchanged with a wide range of virtual instruments, allowing you to command an orchestra without ever having to learn how to play a MIDI keyboard.

yes the software is out there but the algorithms used are pretty shotty. I've sampled a large selection and even with complete silence and the presence of one monotonic sound, like humming, it creates a large number of notes that shouldn't be there. So rather than this being a novel business concept, i believe its an existing one thats crap and needs to be improved.
