The way the airbags work now we can call it passive because it starts after the accident happens even just after a very short period of time. We can make new safety system ,including airbag, brake, deceleration, called active system meaning that it starts before the accident happens or to prevent the accident to happens. With the help of speed sensors, car relative speed will be calculated and a computer program will know in how much time the collision will happens then the system will activate.

There would be 3 scenarios:

1. You about to collides a station objects like parked car, wall... slow moving objects like pedestrians...the system will apply the brake to stop the cars.

2. You stop at the intersection and the other car will collide you (the system calculate the relative speed between yours and the others) the outside airbags (outside the cars-not inside like now) will deploy to absorb the impact.

3. You're driving too fast or the car in front slow down or stop the system will know what to do : slow down or stop.

What about the times when an accident, which does not look avoidable, is avoided? This could be very costly to the owner if the accident were avoided.
