I offer a simple solution to the social problem and high cost of maintaining a military presence in Afganistan.

Just buy and then destroy all the opium they can produce!

In other words, just let them grow it and prosper from growing it. Let us become their best customer! Can you think of a better way to befriend the population? I'm sure it would cost much less than what we are currently spending on our military and no one will get killed!
