Windows program that raises and lowers volume at a regular interval for listening to music loud for say 2 minutes and having it lower for say 5 minutes.
This would go a long way to protecting the hearing of people who like to listen to loud music.

I don't get it - if you want to protect the hearing, why does the program raise the volume every five minutes?

It would do so because the loud moments allow you to enjoy the loud music, and the 5 minutes of being quieter allow your ears to recover.
