Might be a good idea, but it's kinda hard to understand for peole who have never dealt with horses (like myself). A more elaborate explanation would be appreciated! :-)

First, a hay net is literally a bag type net that you put a bit of hay in for the horse to eat when it's tied up in a trailer or stall. It keeps the hay off the ground so the horse won't ingest any worms or other items. Mostly, they are used while transporting horses or at horse shows, etc...as these places often don't have hay racks available. (hay rack--a metal device freestanding or attached to a wall to hold sheaves of hay so horse can feed).

A better way to attach a hay net (safer!!!): use a heavy duty brass two way snap clip (can be had at any hardware/farm store or tack shop). Take a heavy duty chain (that fits the snap end of the clip) and run one end through the net, and the other through the fence or trailer, etc.. use the brass snap to join the two pieces together..and let it hang by the chain....less likely to break than a rope....
