Its quite simple. As a car moves, the metal rim, under the rubber tires, is of an advantage. So, what we do is place a magnet parallel to the axle such that the magnet is at the center of the metal tire part without touching. This rotation will produce electricity which can then be used in a variety of ways. As the car goes faster, this output current increases.
