Why don't they have a "repeat last action" key on computers, that would repeat the last action taken without having to record a macro and run it. The feature would keep updating itself with every new action taken such as create a new file or underline the selected text or print selected text etc.
You would then not have to go through finding the correct menu item to click again - it would always be the same one to repeat the last action, regardless of what the action was.
Maybe the description of the action to be repeated could appear on the bottom message line of the screen?
