i'm in an engeneering class, and we have to redesign something that already exists. i cannot think of anything at the time, b/c there are few things that can be redesigned in my hobbies. the item needs to be able to fit into a 6x6x6 inch cube. i would love to hear your ideas. examle: an extendable dog leash with a built in flashlight (someone already did this). anything that makes life easyer. thank you for reading this, and i hope to get feedback. i'm not sure if this website allows this, so if it doesn't then i appologise in advance, lol.

hey,

So you want a passing grade huh? :-? Check this one out.....
How about a "drink from anything straw"? B-)
The straw actually consists of a number of capillary tubes ......
I mean a number of "sub-straws" if I am allowed to coin that term.
So the thing about these filters is that each one of them has such a tiny hole that even bacteria cannot pass through!!!!!! Actually this idea is not completely a novel one as it is already a patented one and is being used in developing countries as a means of getting pure water........................but the thing is that nobody has thought about using it as a straw..................only as a filtering technique on a large scale basis. So you can claim that you have redesigned it!! ;-7 and in fact you can even claim that it is an indespensable survival kit

So the next time you go to the beach and you feel thirsty just dip this straw into the salty water and have a sip....................

Cheers

Probably you are talking about reverse osmosis filtration. The human lung can produce a negative presure of 30 to 60 cm water column. This is far too low to achieve any RO filtration.

If you are thirsty better to keep a hip bottle of mineral water as a back up to the straw at the beach.

thanks everyone, but i already did it. i had a keyless entry remote for a car with an alarm on the back of it, so it goes off when your car's alarm does. this way you know that it's your car. because, no one ever says "OH NO!! someone is getting their car stolen!!" when they hear an alarm. it's more like "oh no... how long is that going to be on." i dont' like to depend on other people much, so this reduces that factor.
