I would like to take digital camera as an example. The features of digital camera are now place in the pre-defined menu in the view of designer. For example, if you want to turn the auto white balance off, you should go menu->photos->awb->off. However, the way designer catergorize the features may not be understandable to some users. The idea of smart menu is basically use a search engine to replace to whole menu. User type the keywords instead of tranverse the long menus and submenus. For example, user type "auto white balance", the digital camera will shows on/off automatically. By doing so, the command interpretation will shift to the software designer while in the old days, users have to learn how to read the menus and submenus.

Any comments?
