What if there were signs along the road that were digital and only displayed the average speed people were traveling in that area. Laws are ideally set out to protect the common good and are established and set by the agreement of the majority, including speed limits. These signs could keep instant records of what the majority of drivers believe to be a safe speed limit. Then the police could ticket people driving in excess of that speed limit. That way the law would more adequately reflect road conditions and the majority of people on the road. These signs could also warn people who are approaching heavy traffic that the average speed traveled ahead is greatly reduced. This may help prevent some rear-end collisions.
