Eco Friendly Patents

Often think that a number of ideas and innovations we come up with actually harms the planet more than its short term commercial application is worth.

For example, inventing a baby feeding bottle with plastic disposable refills to save washing up time.

How much thought do we actually put into our ideas future effect on the environment.

This said, patent offices should not grant a patent for a product which is not more environmentally friendly than the product it aims to replace or compete with.

Patents should have besides a novelty and utility factor, a green factor as well.

This could hopefully reduce the number of ridiculous inventions that supposedly make life easier.

Reward: A cleaner planet.
