Cant the birds genetic DNA be mutated to form a bird of very huge size..These birds could be trained by humans like elephants or cows etc..

These could be cheap flying without knowing much of technology... And there is no need of fuel etc..
it may be better in terms of anticolision, fuel independent, autopilot , thinking and having better connection with driver ..


Is there any such project in place?
