Low Voltage Furnace

Why can't someone actually design a foced hot air furnace with a 12vdc control board, valves, and fan? Yes, I know you can use an inverter, but there are inefficiencies associated with the conversion.
The proposed furnace could have a group 31 deep cycle battery in the housing with a charger to keep the battery topped off.
