Obsessed by the improvements of StarTrek and the fourth millennium, while feeling restricted by the limits of today's technology or that boring second law of thermodynamics? Just let your imagination flow - you needn't be Scotty to beam your thoughts in here!

At the optician's chamber the optician diagnoses the patient's problem almost entirely on how the patient describes what he sees. Sometimes the doctor fails o visualize what the patient describes and sometimes even the patient fails to report correctly. The image formed on the retina is transmitted via a set of electric signals through the optic nerve to the brain. A probe will catch these electric signals and reconstruct the image and show it on a computer screen. Comparing the image with the standard image of a reference object, the doctor can easily realize the patient's problem and also some image processing could be employed to detect which lens could be perfect for correcting the vision.

Reward: The process makes the diagnosis process more patient-parameter-independent and hence many times more reliable.
