With the continuing drive to save energy i have always wandered why we dont use the natural spinning actin of a washing machine to lower the pressure within the drum by using it as a vacume pump. The resulting lower pressure should mean that water will boil at a lower temperature which should require less energy. The same vacume could also be used to drive off more water after washing so that clothes come out drier.
