salsburg (USA) More comfortable x-ray bitewings Every time I get a dental x-ray, I always find it amazing how uncomfortable those bite-wings are. I'm sure others also find themselves counting the seconds they have to bite down on these sharp objects, digging into the upper and lower palates. I would like to see a bite-wing that I wouldn't mind keeping in my mouth for 10 minutes. It would probably use some sort of cushy foam to evenly distribute the pressure to the upper and lower palates. The lead shielding would still be equally effective, as its boundary would still be nearly in contact with each palate. Reward: Free x-rays!
