by TheBrainyBoy » Sat Mar 31, 2012 5:17 am I was watching a movie the other day and one character was always seen on a pump trolley,or handcar as some may call it. I started to wonder what would you do if a train was to come along while you were pumping along on the tracks?
My idea is to make a pump trolley with a system so that if a train was to come along, it would be able to safely get of the tracks quickly by means of spring loaded mechanisms or pneumatic pumps. You would be able to press a button to activate the pumps or springs on either side of the trolley that are delayed for 10 seconds to allow the driver to get off.
