MD, I am not moaning about things, it's my natural reaction to think about something I see and come up with my own ideas on what might still need to be considered. It's like a discussion - a discussion can only develop when there are different views, without different views there are no discussions. That's probably the reason why, when I think an idea is perfect already, I don't post.
However, running this board is a learning experience for me, too, and one of the things I did learn that for every critical remark I make, I should an least write one praising remark somewhere else. Unfortunately, I don't always have the time, I am trying to squeeze as much of my spare time into this as I can, but sometimes it's just not enough. Sometimes, it's 2 or 3 o'clock in the morning, I am very tired, I just try to make a suggestion or two, and I leave. Unfortunately again, as English isn't my native language, it takes me much longer than it would probably take you.
I know that some of my remarks haven't been perceived well in the past, and I'm still trying to figure out how to deal with that. For me it actually creates a difficult situation, because I would like to be able to make an occasional (critical) remark on my own site as well without being flamed. Not being able to do so also defeats the purpose of this site, because in a brainstorming process, developments are not achieved by everybody saying "yes" and "cool," but by listening to critique and either disproving it, or using it as a tool to improve your own work and/or thought process.
I have a very creative job in "real" life, and I greatly value any kind of input I get, no matter where it comes from or what it looks like. I always try to do what I would appreciate from others, however it seems like this might be the wrong approach in this matter.
As for my "moaning" - you probably noticed the critical remarks I made under the ideas I moved to the "Waste Reservoir" yesterday. I consider it a service. I see that people take the trouble and time to sit down and submit ideas to my database, and I think it's great, but then some ideas are simply incomplete, so I can't add them in this state. It would be much easier for me to delete them so they never show up, instead I created a public place where people can react to my critique and either convince me of the qualities of their idea or add the additional information they already had in their minds, but which they simply forgot to write down in full (happens fairly often imho). However, hardly anybody uses this chance, and all I get is a bashing on my head.
Mac Daddy, please tell me what I should do - as I said, I do appreciate any kind of feedback!
