Smoker Therapy Printer Friendly Version
I've always heard that it's difficult to quit smoking even if you want to. Here's my suggestion: spend a voluntary night in hospital between two heavy smokers who look like skin and bones and are receiving treatment for severe cancer. Have their ex-wives walk in and let them chat for hours about their smoking habits, the surgery they already had, the size and looks of ulcers and the joys of chemotherapy. Have the smokers moan and groan from pain all night long.
I swear this would be much more effective than the warnings they put on cigarettes nowadays. And hospitals could earn some extra money buy offering this as a special to smokers who want to quit.
This has actually happened to me when I got my tonsils out. Unfortunately I didn't smoke in the first place.

American English in schools Printer Friendly Version
All over the world, teachers are obsessed with the idea of teaching kids the "real" British English. This obsession is making it unnecessarily hard for people to actually learn the language. British and American English are different in many ways, and depending on your mother-tongue, one flavor should be considerably easier to learn than the other. British English for example has a very hard and distinct pronunciation of consonants, while American English is softer and blurrier. For people in certain countries, it would make sense to learn the type of English that is closer related to their own language, resulting in quicker learning and less accent.

Internet nutrition diagnostic Printer Friendly Version
Imagine a sort of diet checker, in which you would enter information about what you've eaten today (which might need to be quite precise, especially concerning quantity) as well as info on your age, weight and build, and in return you get precise nutritional information such as:

- scales of the recommended daily intake of necessary nutrients, which show whether you've eaten enough or too much of each nutrient;

- Advice on where you can find the nutrients you're missing out on, and which foods to avoid.

An idea for webmasters: if you try creating this, perhaps with flashplayer, how about making it free on a day-to-day basis, but creating a premium membership which would allow members to follow their nutritional progress over months or even years?
Reward: I want premium membership free.^^
