Dried out Dry Erase Marker tip bluesPrinter Friendly Version
Here is an idea for the makers of dry erase markers one that would really be of good use to parents care takers and educators of young children. A flip top cap attached to the marker that even a child can easily take off. The cap may necessitate a re-design of the marker tip whereby the cap could also be designed to flip back and perhaps be an ergonomic aid to how the person holds the marker.
Another solution to the "I forgot to cap it!!!" dried out dry erase marker tip blues is to design a retractable marker tip, since kids seem instinctivley love clicking retractable pens. Perhaps you can design a sort of reverse pressure sensitive device that retracts the marker tip when the marker tip is not in use, thus no pressure on the tip would make the tip automatically retract back into its protective barrel.
Reward: A work from home idea marketing job would be nice but if not Ok yes I would like a package or more of different colored markers utilizing one or more of these design ideas.

Design yer ClothesPrinter Friendly Version
I thought about having a tailor shop that would cut patterns that people submitted--along with their size and measurements. The main idea would be to cut out patterns for the customer to sew up themselves, or sew them up for an extra cost for the customer as an option. The customer and a tailor would likely have a short collaboration on any minor finishing details for the design before the pattern was started. Now with the Internet, this would be a much smoother process. The site could feature top fashion designs of the week/month/year and be available to anyone for sale that wished to market any of the clothing styles. Or, maybe it could just be set up like at Shutterpoint.com where the designer sets a price and anyone could buy your design at the price you list and the designer would get recognition in different ways on the desineyerclothes website.

WheelwalkersPrinter Friendly Version
"No rollerblades in store". But what if you could quickly slip a walking pad onto the wheels of your rollerblades, and negotiate any store, stairs, gravel, etc. Borrowing the design from the skate guards used forever on ice skates, this could save the need for slinging shoes over your shoulder, not to mention a lot of time. The design of "Wheelwalkers" would have to have an angled base so that you could still manage the walking motion in the boot shell of the blades.
Reward: I need new rollerblades (size 14 wide), and wheelwalkers to go with them.

The unbreakable UmbrellaPrinter Friendly Version
Have you ever gone out for a walk the day after a windy/stormy day/night and noticed on nearly every street/avenue the twisted carcasses of broken umbrellas? Umbrellas operate fine on rainy days where there is just light to moderate wind - that is they perfom their design function beautifully (keeping the rain off you). However on days when winds start to gust and squall, it is a full time job just trying fo keep the umbrella facing into the wind. At intersections/road junctions and in exposed areas the design flaw of the umbrella comes into play. An abrupt change in direction of the wind catches you off-guard, catching the umbrella and blowing it inside-out. If this gust is strong enough your brolly is busted instantly(hence the discarded skeletal remains (of the brolly) which are discovered the next day! Is it possible to design one which could automatically adjust itself to abrupt & violent changes in windflow? I would be interested in purchasing such a brolly!
Reward: Free gust-proof brolly!
