Phone-based Location Alarm Printer Friendly Version
Have you ever fallen asleep on the train and gone past your stop? It happens all the time in Japan.
So why could we have an alarm function which rings when we get into a station? You set it at the start of your journey and it tells you when to get off, when to change, where to go etc.
Never wake up in train sheds again!
Reward: Free phone and minor credit.

Current status for Cell Phone Users Printer Friendly Version
In Gmail chat, you can allow people to see your online status. The same should be available for cell phone users.
All mobile phone users should be able to update their current status in real time, such as "in bathroom." There should be entry time displayed when the status is typed.
This way, the user can have a comfortable, relaxed bath even while waiting for a important call. If you don't want to be disturbed for 5 minutes, you could type:

"In bath. Wait for 5 minutes.

- entered at 3:05 pm on 14.03.2011"

This would make our life a lot more relaxed, while improving communication.

Mobile Barcode system Printer Friendly Version
Nokia have barcode technology available for their phones, however I have researched its usage which is fairly limited. My idea would be for the likes of large brand name mobile companies to work in conjunction with large retail food outlets i.e. Wallmart(ASDA), Tesco. A bluetooth signal could run in the store which will be picked up by customers' mobiles on entering the shop. As well as showing special offers it could open the access to their database of barcodes for all of its products allowing customers to scan their purchases while in the store hence being able to have an idea of the cost when they arrive at the till.
