Ecological home for cold areas Printer Friendly Version
Why not build a house that uses ground and snow as isolation?

The house could have 3 sloped sides going to ground level and there if it is helpful could be roof covered air pockets between underground wall and ground. One side would be mostly glass. During winter the snow would help insulate most of the building (as there are no walls except the glass wall letting light and warmth in). Rainwater could be collected and used (by dehydration) in summer to cool the building. Air would need to be circulated from high point of the building to low point of the building. The roof could be "ground" roof.

Self Making Bed Printer Friendly Version
This is much harder to explain in words than it is to imagine in my head but I'll do my best to get my idea into words. Basically the pillows will be zipped to the bed so that you can move them if you'd like and attach them manually but other than that you won't have to worry about the pillows in making the bed. Then the blankets and sheets and whatever other blankets you may have on your bed will have a string inside the three sides closest to the wall and it will then continue outside of the blanket to 2 strings going into the wall that will then attach together inside the wall and finally come out of the wall directly in the middle of whre the two entered thew wall. Basically you will pull this string that is coming out of the wall and voila the sheets and blankets are puuld up and over your pillows neatly in one fell swoop!

I know that I would love to have this instead of walking back and forth to each bed side making the blanket perfect and blahblahblah. Any decorative pillows on top of the bed are up to you to put on though! Let me know how this sounds, I inow it is very hard to understand and picture but try your hardest! I'll try drawing out a diagram and see if i can post it up somewhere!
Reward: I'm not sure what to do with this but a free product, I suppose.

Silent pressure coocker Printer Friendly Version
It's really noisy when the pressure from a pressure cooker is released from the whistle at the top of the lid.

So if we use such a mechanism which lets the steam being released directly into top air thus reducing any kind of collision of steam with metal causing less noise. No worries about burning your face from the hot steam, because steam coming out of small hole at large pressure cools instantly as it comes to open space (pressure is negligible in comparison).

I even thought of a design using the simple mechanism of a jotter pen refill tom and the press button on the pen; which on pressing makes the refill rotate as it comes down so that it can be used for writing. So if we use the same sliding mechanism when the pressure from the cooker acts like the pen button that gets pressed and then when the slider goes to the topmost position a few small trough holes provided on the lid as well as slider will coincide and the pressure will be successfully and without much noise. Then the slider comes back to its original position with the help of spring.

No irritation of your ears as food is being cooked in your pressure cooker.
Reward: Just send me one such cooker so that i can sit in peace while my rice is being cooked!!!
