Holographic Billboard Printer Friendly Version
Billboards become holographic projections. Starts with a holographic projector on the ground pointing upwards. Ad is loaded on disk and placed in projector. Ad can move, rotate in 3-D. And when paid ad time is over, the projector turns off and people can look at the surrounding scenery.
Reward: I get to concept some of the ads for new holographic billboards.

Cross-Generational Care Printer Friendly Version
I currently live next to a care home for the elderly and the residents don't sound very happy there. One notable exception is when they are around young children. My idea is simple: combine elderly care centers with children's day care centers. Young children haven't yet learned from society that people have to behave in certain ways so 'wacky old people' behaviors don't bother them as much, and maybe they'll grow up to be better people for the immersion.
This is simply a replacement of traditional multi-generational family arrangements, where retired, older generations maintained their value to the family as caregivers while able-bodied folks toiled in the field. Nowadays, we've deemed that being old implies that you have to retire and interact only with your age group while living in care centers. Generally, it seems to me that people don't spend enough time outside their age group anymore; and small children don't have much choice about who they spend time with.
Some of the benefits include: Cross-generational information exchange, fewer staff per person, and greater human contact across generations.
Reward: I hope that when I am too old to care for myself, that I am not isolated from future generations and forced to end my influence in society.

Domains For Sale  Printer Friendly Version
Domains names can be registered for varying periods of time - 1 year, 2 years or 10 years. When the registration period expires, the original owner can re-register it or failing that it enters the public domain where it is then sold on a first come, first served basis. Many sites cater for this expired domain market, which indicates that there is a huge demand for them.
For somebody whose name was about to expire and who had been unable to sell it on some form of return, however small that might be would probably be welcome. A site could therefore be set up dedicated to selling names whose registration had 2 months or less to run. The names could be sold on a sliding scale basis, starting at $50 for 8 weeks to go and reducing by $5 for every week thereafter.
A ready market would exist for both buyer and seller. The buyer would gain a name very cheaply before it enters the public domain whilst the seller would salvage something from his original investment. Profits from the site could be derived from advertising revenues or from charging a small fee for each transaction. I am unaware that any company is providing this service.
Reward: Donate some or all of your profits to charity
