Movies on Demand Printer Friendly Version
Maybe one of the movie companies like Blockbuster Video or Hollywood Video could team up with a cable provider to offer movies on demand. Much like pay per view you could order movies from it. But instead of watching whatever was coming on that channel and at the time that they are playing it, you could type in the name of the movie you wanted to watch, pay for it, and have it delivered to your TV. This isn't that far fetched as they already have digital cable and TIVO. They would just have to have all of these movies on some type of network that could send a requested stream to a specific viewer. Maybe you could search by genre, etc. Would be interesting.

Audio tagging with TV broadcasting Printer Friendly Version
Ever heard a piece of music you really like during a TV programme, film or commercial, but not known what it is?
With TV broadcasting, other data is also broadcast with the pictures (eg subtitles). So why not broadcast the info around current music being played during a programme? By clicking on a button you could get the name of the song. This would mean when you hear something you like you can instantly find out what it is, and who it is by.
Take this a step further and, using a hard drive, the music could be instantly downloaded (bought). TV companies would no longer have to pay royalties to use music as the music companies would see it more like advertising. And the public would have a much easier way of buying the music they like.
Reward: a bigger music collection

Books on TV Printer Friendly Version
Have you ever laid in bed or on the couch and read a book? Im sure most of us have. Well, sometimes it's hard to get comfortable holding the book. Paperbacks keep wanting to close, and big books make your arms tired, etc. How about books on DVD. Pop it into the DVD player, and there it is. The written word on the T.V. sceen. All you have to do is lay back and read. You dont even need the lights on. It would have a page turning button on the remote (channel up/down), and also the page could be flipped sideways for reading horizontally.
