Ultimate Railroad Cross-Tie Printer Friendly Version
Grind up old automobile tires. Mix this with some sort of resin and pour into cross-tie molds containing reinforcing frame, if necessary and embed noncorroding anchor studs for the rail tie down plates.
This would solve the problem of getting rid of unwanted auto tires and prevent the cutting of tens of thousands of trees currently used for railroad cross-ties also would save man hours replacing ties by extending the life of the ties.

The High Winger Printer Friendly Version
The design idea is for a medium to long range two-engine aircraft in either a larger wide body configuration or narrow body. The engines would be rear-mounted and be either similar to short distance airbus engines or those on longer distance Boeing 787 or 777 aircraft. The high wing design is based on the BAe 146/ Avro RJ and some turbo prop aircraft. The main differences are that this design could be larger or smaller and the engines are rear mounted similar to the MD 88 and others. The safety and passenger aspects of this design are listed below
Safety
As the this is a high wing design fuel tanks would be above he ground and would not be compromised in a wheels up emergency landing. The engines are also above ground level and would not be compromised in an emergency wheels-up landing. The mid wheel nacelles would be wide enough to prevent the plane from tipping over in a wheels-up emergency landing and could be equipped with inflatable air bags to act as buoyancy devices in case of a water landing. Also due to the high wing and high engine design these would not snag on waves or dig into the water if an emergency landing on water is required.
Passenger Comfort
Unlike the Avro (which is a high wing design with engines attached underneath the wings) and other traditional low wing designs, all window-seat passengers would have excellent views, and with a rear engine design noise levels would be acceptable.

Rooftop Monorails Printer Friendly Version
In the downtown areas in major cities heavy traffic is the big issue, since it is waste of resource and time and polluting the air. Therefore the government tries to reduce the heavy traffic and solve many problems. However, we can't build new road or subway since we have no space on the ground or under the ground. So I thought it would be nice to make a road in the rooftop by connecting the rooftop of buildings with road.
Since it is much more dangerous than the road on the ground, there should be many safety net and only government granted monorails should be allowed. Office workers can get off at the rooftop. This will solve heavy traffic and also relieve the dependence of subway. People feel stressed in early morning because of crowded atmosphere during rush hour. This makes people uncomfortable from the beginning of the day so if people using subway decreases people can start the day with joy and this will increase the efficiency of workers so corporations can also benefit from this.
